Mike Mitchell
Michael W. Mitchell did his undergraduate work at the University of Texas and graduated from the University of Arkansas Law School. He was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1969 and the Colorado Bar in 1994. In 1975, he joined classmates Dent Gitchel (retired Professor of law at UALR School of Law), Robert M. Cearley, Jr., (past president of Arkansas Bar Association), and David Bogard (former circuit judge in Pulaski County) in the practice of law.
In 1976, the firm merged with Warren and Bullion. Eugene R. Warren worked closely with Mike until Mr. Warren’s sudden death in 1980. Mike succeeded Mr. Warren as general counsel for the Arkansas Medical Society in 1981. In 1983, he was instrumental in the formation of the Health Law Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association, served as its Chairman from the formation until 1989, and he served as the Chairman of the Health Law section from 2001 to 2002.
Mike has been active in jury trial work for both defendants and plaintiffs for many years and is certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (1995-2005). He has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America in Health Law since 1997. He is a member of both the Tort and Health Law sections of the Arkansas Bar Association.
Mike also serves as general counsel for the Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, and Arkansas Residential Assisted Living Association.
Finally, Mike is a registered lobbyist before the Arkansas State Legislature on behalf of the Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, Arkansas Foot and Ankle Medical Association, Arkansas Residential Assisted Living Association, and Universal Health Services Psychiatric Hospitals (The BridgeWay, Pinnacle Pointe Hospital, and Rivendell Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas).
